About

I’m Jackie and I have created this blog to move my own study of film, television, history and culture beyond the classroom and, more importantly, beyond my own head.  I earned a master’s degree in Cinema Studies from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and I received my bachelor’s degree in Critical Studies-Film, Television, New Media and English at San Diego State University, where I also minored in Classics.  I have presented papers at conferences, volunteered with film festivals, worked with foreign and independent film distribution, and have published a peer-reviewed essay.  As I continue pursuing writing and research, I want to open up the discussion and the dialogue to all the other film and cultural scholars, historians, critics and general film lovers out there, and hope that this blog will function as a space for the communicative exchange of ideas, knowledge, and scholarship.

Thank you for your insightful discourse entitled “Terrence Malick’s The Thin Red Line: Unanswerable Questions and the Myth of (the) Good War.” Your well-researched article provides an entry point for a much deeper understanding and appreciation of this work.
